Veggie garden
It's long since been a plan of mine to have a decent veggie garden. One with irrigation and a plan.
This week with time on our hands we've set to work transforming a section of the garden we had aside as a little playground for when our kids were younger into my much anticipated veggie garden!
The cubby has been dismantled, restained and will now become my tool shed. The sand pit dismantled and will be the base for the tool shed. The worm farm will come and join my veggie garden. Our chicken tractor will be tidied up and fixed and then become a living area for some new chickens ( we usually get a new collection of chickens around March time but obviously everyone is out buying chickens at the moment) The soil delivery is coming on Friday, before then we have a few essential jobs so that the delivery can get as close to where we want it as possible if I remember to take my phone outside tomorrow I'll grab a photo.
Jobs today
Clear access for delivery
Lay bed for tool shed
Plan design for garden
Get some winter seeds into grow (eldest requested sugar snap peas)
Open edging of veggie garden up so delivery truck can get in as far as possible

Little savings
I haven't been for coffee for ages but I have sorted through all my bags that often come for coffee with me. Some went in the op shop pile, some wet to the washing machine and some were neatly returned to the box I keep my handbags in.
Weigh in Week 10
Im doing okay right now. It's been a busy week and I've had work every day. If we go into isolation for coronavirus I do have concerns about what that might mean for my Weightloss and if I'm able to keep it going okay, like everyone it will be hard if we run out of essential food, but we are gong to keep active, keep busy and make the most of it!
I think as a family we will have some sort of gym set up, our two boys are very physically active so I know they need that to be nice people :) my husband and I just need the exercise and Weightloss that comes with it so it's a good chance to do it as a family.

School closures
well finally they have seen sense and are closing schools from Tuesday.
I'm so glad, we really need to get on top of the spread of Covid-19.
Schools don't have enough tissues, hand soap or sanitiser and teachers are bringing their own in from home to keep the classroom clean. It's not fair and let's face it the supermarkets are empty when we go shopping because it's all been bought during the day!
Anyway, I'm happy to have my kids at home, in fact I can't wait!

Weightloss
I've never been one to jump on the scales at every opportunity.
I'm a regular once a week lady, I don't feel like a daily weigh in would help my motivation...I like to see big numbers!

Motivational ski pants
I saw in a sale a little while back a pair of ski pants in size 20 they were half price and a real bargain. I bought them I'm in love!
However, they are a bit too small so I'm using them as motivation for the upcoming crisis ,to keep myself I n check that I need to carry on as usual with my Weightloss. I've seen plenty of memes on facebook about eating all your isolation snacks in the first few days of isolation and whilst humorous no doubt convey Some people's reality...but It won't be mine!

Decluttering
Three beautiful bin bags to go to the op shop.
Lots of clothes that are too big for me, toys and books.
It feels good to be getting on top of things.
With coronavirus on the agenda I will be keeping these bags at home on the bed of the front spare room until time comes and I can drop them off. For now though I'm counting them as 3 more bags towards my target!

Coronavirus preparedness
whilst I'm not a ,toilet roll stocker I do feel like with current events and the media that we might be heading towards school closures in Order to get on top of corona virus, it wouldn't surprise me if it was around the school holidays.
Last night as I lay in bed trying to sleep my mind was racing around our needs for if we did have a 2 week exaclusion period.
My list was fairly short but Nevertheless full of items I feel our family would need.

Prepping for camp
With eldest sons Nike camp only a month away we went looking for a 65 l back pack for him. For this 3 day hike he will need to carry everything he needs to a maximum of 1/4 of his weight. He currently is 40 kilos.
So his Scout leader met us at the shop and fitted him and talked us through the important elements.
Adjustable size so it will do for a few years
Hip pads so the bag rests on his hips NOT his shoulders
Has a rain cover that he uses ALL the time which keeps his pack clean and dry
65l in size
The cost of the bag was $160 however scouts get 10% discount at this store. Our unit has booked a 20% discount night so the manager said that she would honor the 20% discount if we bought it today, which we did.

This number is actually quite a surprise. I feel like I've been naughty, I feel like I've cheated but I guess the reality is my cheats have been compliant. Sugar free lollies and sugar free donuts.

Gold Coast savings
A little while ago I had listed some school uniform for sale online. Thankfully yesterday I got a text message from a lady asking to buy it.
4x long sleeved tops
1x sports jumper
$55 in my pocket and heading to the Gold Coast savings. I even dropped them off as the family lived literally 1 minute from school! It was a good reminder though that now is the time to be listing any other spare winter uniform.

Our upcoming week
It's an extra long weekend here. We have the usual long weekend for Labor day but then school has also got staff days on the Tuesday and Wednesday so my kids effectively have 5 days off! They are delighted and the fact it falls in the middle of the term is probably a good thing as it gives them a mid term break but it's a shame hubby can't take the days off too. Youngest has been invited to a birthday party on the Wednesday so eldest and I will go too as its at a trampoline park and he can have a good bounce as well.
Saturday we had to get a few things sorted for camp. Eldest needed a
65l back pack ($159) bought
Trangier - probably from anaconda
Hiking boots ($150??) will buy in a couple of weeks when they have a discount event just in case his feet grow before then!
Sleeping bag suitable for hiking, one that goes to -5 degrees, has baffles for the Zips, ultra lite and compact - also going to look at anaconda for this
Cooking set - anaconda
That's basically 3 days work for me.
Also need to try out some pasta / rice packet mix items that eldest can carry and cook with him. This isn't food we would normally buy so popped to the supermarket to see what options were available. I picked up an oriental fried rice and a creamy bacon pasta on the were for 6 side portions. He will need to learn to cook the food and enjoy eating it!

Planning a trip to QLD
Easter 2021 we will be heading to the Gold Coast in an epic trip including the Theme parks.
I can't wait as I think the kids will love it and I've never been there and love finding new places and exploring.. We have a lot of saving to do for them and we also have a lot of planning and organising.
My current saving goal for my little bank account is $500, I add a little extra to it whenever I drive past and have money in my purse (minimum deposit is $2. I think the balance at the moment is around $140. Ideally I would like $3000 for spending money when we are in GC.... Any extra goes into it (birthday money, Facebook sales, loose change etc)

Credit card debt
Our current credit card debt is going to get a smashing this term.
We've decided that it needs to go and will be putting all my wages onto it until it has disappeared. As of this morning the balance owing is just under $604.14. I know to some this is not a lot and to others it is but honestly I hate being in debt of any kind!
My work is casual so we never know how much or how often I will get work but it was pretty steady last term so I'm hoping for the same again this term ands far it has been good. When I next get paid I will be clearing it straight away.
Until then I want to minimise my outgoing expenses.
No coffees
No takeaway (a really bad habit lately)
Eat from the freezer and pantry
If I'm not working much try selling on eBay / Facebook
Try to use fuel economically eg if in town get several jobs done and stay away the rest of the week!

Weigh in #7
Monday morning I had the worst headache I coild have imagined. I had stars in front of my eyes, it was getting so much worse. I'd taken panadol and it had made no difference at all. I was beginning to think it would not be safe for me to drive home from school drop off. My friend gave me 2 Advil, (ibuprofen) and within 20 mins it had made such a difference. My head was still sore but I could see clearly, think striaght and get on with my day. I came home and ate a fatty meal and lay down. I didn't sleep but I did close my eyes and rest. In the past I would have made coffee and reached for the tin of biscuits, this felt like quite a breakthrough. I'm listening to your body and giving it what it needs. Wednesday and Sunday morning saw the return of the headache, not as bad a be free but still worse then a normal headache. Goodness knows what's caused it.
This week I've been so good with food. I've had cake and cream twice (from and sat night) but it's been compliant cake and very nice too. I've also made a huge chicken and veg curry which I split into 6 portions and froze. I used one of the Pete Evans jar sauces to make 3 meals for hubby, the Jamaican sauce was waaaaay too spicy for me so he can have this. Cooked off a pack of compliant sausages to have on nights with scrambled or fried eggs. 9 meals in the freezer and 8 sausages ready to add to meals. All is well! I'm hoping to crack 120 this week.

Kombucha
If you'd asked me 6 months ago what I thought of kombucha I'd have said I don't like it at all but recently I've worked out I only dislike certain flavours!
Like :
Raspbperry and lemon
Passion fruit
Mango
Lemon
Dislike
Anything with ginger (though hubby likes these)
On the fence
Apple - gees I've tied remind me of orchard cider, I'm not sur I'm a fan
Kombucha is naturally sugar free so complaint for LCHF. It tastes sweet so it's enjoyable as a softdrink. Hubby and I usually share one of these drinks the odd night we have. Hankering for soft drinks. Last night we had one each and they were lovely. These 2 were purchased from Aldi.
